Abstract

SP2020 recorded that the population of Gowa in September 2020 was 785,836 people. Since Indonesia held its first Population Census in 1961, the population has continued to increase. The results of SP2020 compared to SP2010 show an increase in the population of Gowa as much as 112,895 people or an average of 11.3 thousand every year.

Having area of 1,883.33 square kilometers, the population density of Gowa Regency is 406 people per square kilometer in SP2020. This figure is greater than the SP2000 results which recorded Gowa's population density of 272 people per square kilometer and the SP2010 results which reached 347 people per square kilometer.
